Climate Friendly Travel Services has been working with Authenticities to develop a draft Climate Action Plan to support their sustainability strategy. This has involved a review of their work across their supply chain and operations to identify priority action areas.

We have been very impressed by their Renew Manifesto and the level of detail that has gone into the environmental impact assessment of their business. This includes the creation of their own carbon accounting methodology using supplier data from accommodation, transport and food, to calculate the carbon emissions of their itineraries and rank them accordingly.

Through our collaboration we have created a Climate Action Plan which prioritises the key action areas within their business and are working together to support its implementation.

 

Working with ASL has been an enriching experience for MDF, as we proudly contribute to the development of RENEW, Sri Lanka’s first carbon-calculated itinerary. This initiative is trailblazing in every way – training the supply chain on carbon emission calculation essentials and raising awareness about sustainable operations for tourism SMEs has been a great way to scale change and knowledge. This been a great learning journey for both ASL and MDF. We are thrilled to see properties becoming more conscious of their environmental impact, thanks to this collaboration and look forward to seeing where RENEW goes next!
